  • Slides and Code Status Update

Hello NHDNUG Members! First, let me apologize for slacking-off in the maintenance of this site and this blog. I've received some offers to help keep the site up-to-date in the future and I'll be following-up on those shortly. Hopefully that will help fix some of the problems.

Also, I know that we've failed to post the slides and code from our speakers for the last couple of months. We'll fix that right away! I'm currently waiting on the slides from our March and April speakers, and the slides from our May speaker will be up right after TechEd (we sorta got a sneak peek at his TechEd slide deck). As soon as I've got the slides, I'll throw another post up here.

In the future, watch for updates in a much more timely matter! I've got Windows Live Writer finally configured with this blog, so posts are much easier to ...

  • Slides and Code from February 08 Meeting

Thanks again to everyone that came out to the second NHDNUG meeting! We had a great meeting with an excellent speaker. For those that weren't able to make it, Claudio covered in relative depth the thought process and tools developing .NET applications with Test Driven Development. He used the example of developing a banking application from scratch with TDD and relied on the audience to help supply the requirements for the example. The code that was developed as part of the meeting and the slides Claudio used are available in the ZIP archive below.

Finally, apologies to those that had trouble finding B102. I am hopeful that the college will give us B102 for the forseeable future, so we'll make sure there are good, printable directions online to the room for the March 20th meeting. See you in a few weeks!

  • Slides and Code from January meeting

Thanks again to everyone that came out for the inaugural NHDNUG meeting! We had a great turn out for our first event and have soundly established that the .NET community wants- and can support- a .NET User Group on the north side of town. I'd like to thank again Microsoft for helping pull this group together and for providing our great prizes (tonight we gave away 2 copies of Halo 3, Flight Sim 10, and Vista Ultimate). I'd also like to thank Telerik for underwriting the event's food and other miscellaneous expenses. Tonight's event wouldn't have been possible without great support.

Equally important was tonight's great speaker, J Sawyer. J gave a great talk on tips for building high performance, scalable websites with ASP.NET. He covered everything from using Visual Studio Team Edition to do code profiling to uncovering the performance benefits of best practice coding. The presentation is packed with good tips, some of which may surprise you, and is interesting for new ...
